Faith goes up the stairs that love has made and looks out of the windows which hope has opened.
If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes.
Not even God will change the past. All the expectations of God are future expectations.
Future Grace (Multnomah: 2005) 67
The word hope I take for faith; and indeed hope is nothing else but the constancy of faith.
When you say a situation or a person is hopeless, you are slamming the door in the face of God.
Other men see only a hopeless end, but the Christian rejoices in an endless hope.
Joy in affliction is rooted in the hope of resurrection, but our experience of suffering also deepens the root of that hope.
Hope is patience with the lamp lit.
As long as there are hearts full of passion that embrace the face of fear,
there will always be hope amidst great opposition and staggering apathy.
