I took them to see MC Hammer at the Echo Arena... I was bummed, because Vanilla Ice had just dropped from the tour. It was entertaining and, believe it or not, En Vogue was pretty good. Camille took me to see Coldplay last year... that was great. Fiona Apple was excellent -- sound was bad, though. I think Denise and I will go with Sean and Camille to see Coldplay again... Denise would approve. Of course, there's nothing like a Smoothies rock show... and that bass player is so <em>dreamy.</em> Sam and Camille’s first concert? I listened to The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Peter Gabriel--then I started listening to my own music and I influenced my parents. Now they listen to all my favorite music--They used to take my Red Hot Chili Peppers cds away from me because of the graphic lyrics and then listen to it in their car! I was hoping that clip would be on there. I remember it well... we taped it on VHS and our whole family would watch it all the time. That was about the time our kids liked everything we did, but soon after they followed their own musical tastes. We did love Living Colour and Cory whipping his hair around in circles, as he circumambulated the stage. Meanwhile, Vernon Reid brutalized his guitar. The lead singer was whipping his dreadlocks all around and the band was out of control. The audience didn't know if they should rock out or run away. It pretty much rocked.
